SoCal Energy

I'm officially back in sunny southern California now!  And I'm very happy to finally be reunited with the other colors of nail polish that I own.  Colors are wonderful.  Everything is wonderful.

I attend school at Los Angeles, which is a very busy city.  It's so full of energy.  Just even being at LAX and listening to all the conversations going on around you is fun.  The people in this city give it life, and so my nail art was partly inspired by the energy surrounding me.

More on the manicure after the jump! :)

There is nothing more energetic than neon colors, I would say.  Also a photon has a decent amount of energy.  Excited-state atoms also have a lot of energy.  Young kids drinking their first thing of coffee have too much energy.

For this manicure:

I started off with a coat of Double Duty Base & Top Coat by Sally Hansen.  For my pointer, middle, and ring fingers, I painted two coats of 24/7 by Sinful Colors.  For my thumb and pinky fingers, I painted two coats of Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze, and then I added a light pink rhinestone near the cuticle.  After the hot pink polish dried, I applied striping tape, and then painted the nails with a generous coat of Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze.  I removed the striping tape carefully, and then waited for everything to dry before applying a coat of Double Duty Base & Top Coat by Sally Hansen.

I really like the way the stripes turned out!  In my mind, these stripes will gradually intersect somewhere in the 3D space, which was how I like to see Los Angeles: a crossroads of sorts.  Everything intersects with everything else.  In the end, we're all related and we don't know why.
