Lace for My Birthday!

Hello!  It's finally time.  And by that I mean it's finally my 21st birthday!  Because I am actually from Colorado, that means I can legally buy two things: pot and alcohol.  Wow.  Isn't it amazing how crossing a certain time and date means that the market is much friendlier to you now?  I find that a bit ridiculous, like 21 is some magic number.

But anyways, here are the nails I did for myself for my birthday:

The lace flowers are from a set of lace stickers that I bought from Born Pretty Store! :)  I will be telling you more about the design AND about Born Pretty Store after the jump!

I was hoping that the pink I was using was more pink and less coral so that I could get a nice pink-purple-blue gradient, but alas, that is not what happened.  Oh well.  Sometimes things don't go out my way, and this would be one of those cases.

For this manicure:

I started with a coat of Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat by Sally Hansen.  I have two coats of Lacey Lilac by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear on my thumb, index, and pinky fingers.  Once that dried, I applied lace stickers that I purchased from Born Pretty Store onto my nails.  For my middle and ring fingers, I applied two coats of Snow Me White by Sinful Colors, and then the gradient was done with I Gotta Blush on You by Sephora by OPI and Bess by Julep.  If you look closely, you can see that I have stamped an image onto my ring finger.  The image is from the SH 225 plate by Shany, which was used in combination with Special White Polish by Konad.  I added a coat of glitter over the gradient.  After I did some clean up with pure acetone, I finished with a coat of Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat by Sally Hansen.

I recommend using multiple coats of top coat to smooth out the stickers.  Here I only have one coat of top coat, but later I added another coat and it smoothed out the stickers.

Aren't the lace stickers pretty?  Plus they were really cheap!  AND SHIPPING IS FREE!!!!  If that doesn't get your blood pumping, then I don't know what does.  Maybe tax refunds.  Are you into tax refunds?  I personally do not understand much about tax refunds...anyways!  If you go to Born Pretty Store, you can find a lot of cheap nail art related goods there.  Maybe you want to have fancy nails but don't got the time?  Pop on some stickers onto your manicure and BOOM FANCY NAILS UP IN THIS HOUSE!  Be sure to use my coupon code at checkout to get 10% off!  My coupon code is RWX31.  It's also on the right side of my blog, in case you forget.

Despite my failed gradient, I really like these nails!  I shall wear them as long as I can before I have to take them off for St. Patrick's Day...oh yes!  One more thing.  I just bought some more nail polishes (because I had a coupon and they were on sale!), and I was wondering, would you guys be interested if I started just doing swatches of nail polish?  That way you can know how a certain color looks and how easy it is to apply (and take off) before you buy that polish.  Let me know what you think! :)

And now I will spend my 21st birthday sober and studious.  Hurrah.
