Sochi Olympics 2014

Hello everyone!  Happy last day of Olympics!  Some people won.  Some people didn't win.  Life goes on as usual.

Today's nail art is inspired by the costumes worn by the women figure skaters - specifically, from the short program.  Here is a shot of my nails:

I'm not gonna lie - these nails were so fun to paint!  It's one of those rare times that I get to be creative.  Also, because each nail is different, this post is going to a tad bit longer than usual, so please bear with me!

Valentine's Ombre

Hello friends!  Happy Valentine's Day!  Or for those who prefer the other version...Happy Singles Awareness Day!  And if you're one of those people who don't like either holiday, then...Happy Friday!  February is half over now, and you're doing a good job with life :)

My nails are simple for this holiday season (because I still have to study for midterms HAHA), so let me present to you my Valentine's Day ombre nails:

If you wanted to recreate this nail look, you can.  I promise.  I actually promise this time.  It only takes five different shades of one color.  Really.  That's all there is to it.

Descend into Darkness

Hello friends!  Please don't over-think the title on this one - I don't mean it in like a spooky, negative way.  This nail art is for all of you out there who have exams and midterms and deadlines coming up.  It's going to be a hard/stressful couple of days, but you will pull through it and you will be fine!

I have a biochemistry exam and a physics exam coming up on the same day, one right after the other, so that'll be a fun part of my life.  My mom tells me that college is hard, but it is very much worth it.  I hope so.  I'll take her word on it.

Inspired by a Box

Despite how much I do not like French manicures, they really do help with clipping nails evenly.  Just keep that in mind.

So in Chinese/Taiwanese culture, we have these interesting little snacks called "pineapple cakes".  The outside is like a soft shortbread cookie, and the inside is like compacted pineapple jam.  The cakes themselves are about the size of a normal thing of correcting tape.  It's a very odd snack.  I don't go crazy over them.  If I was at a party and all they had were pineapple cakes, I wouldn't really eat them unless if I was actually hungry.

But anyways, I was at a Bible study recently and someone brought some, which was cool, but oh my gosh the box it came with was so beautiful!  Here is a picture of the box (taken by my boyfriend on his phone):

And here is a picture of my nail art inspired by this very box!
