2014 St. Patrick's Day Nails

Hello everybody!  I hope you are all doing well and that you're sober enough to read this blog post :) actually I don't know how alcohol works.  I still haven't had any alcoholic drinks.  I don't even know my preferences in taste or my tolerance.  I'm a weak, confused, and misled soul.

But enough about my soul.  Here are my nails for today!

I'm wearing a lot of green on my nails, but none on my body.  But it's spring break right now, so really, who's going to pinch me?  Besides, you shouldn't pinch me.  I bruise really easily.  It's not fun.

Read more about my nails after the jump!
I'm wearing four different shades of green right now.  I'll be talking about each design individually, since the plaid design covers two fingers.

For this manicure:

All my nails have a coat of Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat as the base coat and a coat of Matte Me Crazy by NYC as the top coat.

Lucky Clovers (Thumb) - I was going to stamp on the clovers, but the image wasn't picking up very well so that was a bummer.  I used two coats of Monet Money by FingerPaints and then I used a dotting tool and a striper brush to paint the clovers using Golden-I by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear.  I used the tutorial from Janelle of Elleandish to paint the clovers (click here to go see her tutorial!).

Plaid (Pointer & Middle Fingers) - I started with two coats of Happy Ending by Sinful Colors, and then painted the stripes of varying thickness using a striper brush.  The colors I used for the stripes are Monet Money by FingerPaints, Snow Me White by Sinful Colors, and Golden-I by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear.

Glitter Gradient (Ring Finger) - I started with two coats of Golden-I by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, and then painted the green glitter gradient using the green glitter from the Shades of the Season collection.  The gradient was painted with just the brush of the polish.

Dots (Pinky Finger) - I started with three coats of In the Lime Light by China Glaze and added the dots using a dotting tool dipped in Snow Me White by Sinful Colors.

I went shopping specifically for green polishes to ready myself for this manicure.  Now I own more green polishes, and I am perfectly okay with that!  I shall be using more and more green polishes in the coming days.  I can feel it in my bones.

I don't have any plans for tonight...do you?  I've mostly been either doing homework or playing video games.  Gotta work and relax during my week off from school.  That's how things are run in my rendition of the world.  Plus, if I study now, I can do so much better than my peers when midterms are upon us once again.

Honestly, I might actually take this polish off tonight once the day is actually over...just so I can paint my nails again sometime later!  Since I don't have classes and I can lay out my homework over the span of one week, I technically should be able to paint my nails more often :) which is so exciting!  But we'll see what actually happens.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

  1. These are amazing! I usually do nothing to my nails, but I'd totally let you paint mine for a St. Paddy's day.
