Geometric Negative

Hello again, friends!  I hope you all had a lovely week :) I have one more week of classes left in this semester, which is great!  But it also means finals are soon going to gnash me in between their teeth.  It's a shame I'm indigestible.  I can't be devoured by the trials of the world.

I decided to try something new this time, so I present to you the following:

Negative space on my nails! :O Yeah, I'm stepping out in new waters right now.  These nails were also loosely inspired by one of my friend's hair.  Her hair is dark black with blue streaks, and if you catch it in the perfect light, it's crazy beautiful :) I wish I had hair streaks, but seeing as how I have problems with my hair falling out...maybe it's not worth it.

This manicure is very simple :) trust me!

My thumb has a different sticker than my ring finger.  This is what my thumb looks like:

Actually it has two stickers, not one.

For this manicure:

I started with a coat of Base Coat by Finger Paints on all my nails.  To my thumb and ring fingers, I painted on two coats of Zora by Julep and then I added the nail art stickers once my nails were relatively dry.  For the other fingers, I taped off parts of my nails using normal transparent tape, and then I painted on one coat of aruba blue by essie and removed the tape promptly.  After that dried a bit, I painted on the Black Out by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear stripes using the brush that came with the bottle.  The silver dots were dotted on using a dotting tool and Tribeca Silver by NYC.  Everything was sealed with a coat of Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat.

Approximate Completion Time: 1.5 hours

Although I love nail stickers so very much, the reason why the stickers don't stick well to my nails is because my nails are very curved.  If your nails are flat, I think these stickers would work better.  Additionally, you could just layer on more and more coats of top coat, but that will get ridiculous after a while.
