Spring Skittle

Hi guys!  I hope you're all doing well :)

I will be posting more than once a week for the next few weeks.  Crazy, I know, but I have a certain deadlines for special posts, and I want to meet those deadlines.  It will be a fun times for me and for you!

Without further ado, here is a (rare) shot of my right hand - my dominant hand!

A "skittle", from what I understand, is essentially like a mix-and-match set of nails/colors for a manicure.  I often employ this style in my nail art, but rarely do I ever call it a "skittle".  And speaking of skittles, is anyone else bummed that the green Skittle is now green apple flavored instead of lime?  Yeah, boo, that switch sucks.

Read more about these nails after the jump! :)
It's really easy to mix and match colors, so long as you have a theme in mind, or if you have a certain personality to go with those colors.  Because you're using multiple colors, you don't even have to add "nail art" per se because doing so will take away from the simplicity of the colors - and you might accidentally overwhelm the design.  Don't overwhelm the design.  Don't overwhelm yourself.

For this manicure:

I started with a coat of Base Coat by Finger Paints.  I applied three coats of Penelope by Julep to my thumb and ring fingers, two coats of Lacey Lilac by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear to my pointer finger, and two coats of Nadia by Julep to my middle and pinky fingers.  After a little bit of clean up, I sealed all these colors with a coat of Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat by Sally Hansen.

And that's it!  This is one of those rare times when I don't have any nail art action going on my hands - it's becoming increasingly harder for me to leave my nails plain.  I always want to add more detail or a stud or something!  But since I painted these nails during the midst of a studious weekend, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and bring you (mostly) naked nails.

I hope you guys have a wonderful week!  I will be posting again soon, so don't worry about not hearing from me :)
